Abstract
Magnetic properties of α-Fe/Nd 2Fe 14B nanocomposite produced from Nd 8Fe 87-xB 5Zr x (x=0-5) alloys and their microstructures are studied by three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP) and transmission electron microscopy techniques. Zr substitution is found to increase coercivity significantly from 356 kA/m for x=0 to 625.2 kA/m for x=5 alloys at the expense of remanence. Zr atoms are exclusively partitioned in hard phase and being slightly enriched at the interface, resulting in the refinement of microstructure.
