Abstract
The impetus for this article is fueled by my vision for the field of performance improvement often used synonymously with human performance technology, human performance improvement, and performance technology.
As a trained researcher, I continue to question and recognize my inherent biases, and I am compelled to reveal mine to you. I believe in the field of performance improvementand I recognize the importance of why it was conceived. But what baffles me and continues to disappoint is the lack of widespread penetration of our field as a recognized fieldacross academia and business. Thus, my underlying assumption is that the true potential of the field remains untapped.
