Abstract
The Idaho Sagebrush Project uses specialized laser induced graphene sensors to monitor chemicals in sagebrush called volatiles. These sensors are managed by microcontroller devices with instructions to record periodic data. Because these devices are designed to be deployed in the field, with little physical interaction in mind, the practicality of remotely programming and interfacing with these devices must be further explored. In this poster, I present the results of using a smartphone app to transmit and receive instructions from a microcontroller. The product of this project being a functional front end app that can interface with any microcontroller, and/or flexible microcontroller.
