Nanostructured silicon-based near-infrared polarizing beam-splitter

Abstract

We present an infrared nanostructure-based polarizing beam splitter using materials and fabrication processes compatible with other silicon-based optical devices. Preliminary fabrication and optical characterization results are found to be in qualitative agreement with design predictions.
