Abstract

This research explores the experiences of female leaders in rural secondary schools, highlighting their merit-based ascension, challenges with imposter syndrome, and navigation of unforeseen leadership circumstances. It underscores the importance of cultural sensitivity and community collaboration in effective leadership. By aligning with ubuntu-centric and feminist approaches, this study illustrates how these leaders foster inclusivity, equity, and joy in their schools, thereby renewing engagement and driving positive change in their educational communities.
