Abstract

Athletes have inspiring voices that change the landscape of social issues in sport. Their stories and experiences have connected many individuals in social issues by using their brand and name to make a difference. In this video, Eric Martin, PhD, CMPC, Associate Professor and Co-Director Center for Physical Activity and Sport (CPAS) at Boise State University, explains strategies on how to engage in athlete activism through increased awareness, active participation, and partnering with others. Watching this message will provide the viewer with a general idea how athlete activism can be supported among athletes, coaches, and parents to receive benefits of positive change.
