Abstract

“As the world becomes more inter-connected, organizations that will truly excel in the future will be those that discover how to tap people's commitment and capacity to learn.” —Peter Senge , The Fifth Discipline.
The act of learning is an inherently rich and complex process. We perceive and interpret signals from our physical world differently from one another. Each one of us tends to perceive the world in a way that makes sense to us. Our individual perceptions of the world shape what we think, how we decide, and how we define what is important to us. If we can gain an insight into how we process information, it will hold us in good stead as we learn a concept or theory or acquire a skill that is new and demanding. Given the complexity in the act of learning, we cannot expect an idea or theory to account for all that we understand by the term. This sense of perception that is unqiue to an individual also determines his or her natural learning strengths or learning style.
