Abstract

Design-build is a project method wherein a single entity provides comprehensive design and construction services to an owner under a single contract. There is no uniform understanding of appropriate organizational structures suitable for implementing design-build delivery systems. These organizational structures are important for companies pursuing strategic planning initiatives in the design-build market. Construction firms may enter the market individually, merge corporate skills or reorganize to optimize existing design-build organizational structures.
