Abstract
This paper addresses the use of the JavaScript programming language in the context of pen-based computers. The use of JavaScript allows crossover of web-based functionalities to pen-based computers. This allows pen-computers to be fully integrated as components of client/server systems. One client/server system developed and tested for the construction industry if the Field Inspection Reporting System (FIRS).
