Abstract
She notices it after lunch when she feels an itch on her belly. She undoes the last button on her blouse wondering what caused it. Her navel looks moldy—unripe mold, fluffy white dust, like the dandelions we loved so much as children. She spends a minute like that, staring at her own navel, blowing on it, but to no effect; it doesn't go away.
