Abstract

Despite the development of digital tools to help with teaching and learning, often instructors’ attempts to retain struggling students are implemented on the back end of problems. If, however, we design and deliver our courses with proactive interventions aimed at improving retention and persistence, our efforts may be more effective and efficient. We designed interventions for our hybrid and online classes in technical writing, humanities, and first-year writing. In this presentation, panel members will share the results of our research, including retention rates, survey results, and our perception of the time and energy we expended.
