Reducing Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries Through Use of a Skin Bundle

Abstract

The article discusses research which evaluated the efficacy of using skin bundle interventions in reducing hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI) in cardiac intensive care patients in urology/nephrology medical-surgical unit in and critical care unit. The study suggests the influence of nurse education on attitudes and practice for HAPI prevention. It identified reasons for pre- and post-intervention outcomes including HAPI rate, COVID status, mortality and at-risk Braden Scale scores.
