Abstract
How can writing feedback best serve multilingual students and their writing development? In this workshop, participants first considered the many purposes of writing in their courses and reflected on ways to ensure that assignment guidelines and rubrics are designed in order to achieve those purposes. The presenters then discussed the importance of adapting feedback to the writing purpose. Workshop participants came away with a better understanding of how to design writing assignments and provide feedback to maximize multilingual student engagement and writing development.
