Abstract

The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has profoundly impacted education, particularly in service-learning (SL) and community-based learning (CBL). This chapter explores how AI enhances these pedagogical approaches by enabling educators to design innovative, community-based assignments and projects. It highlights AI's role in addressing equity and access challenges, encouraging engagement, and supporting personalized learning experiences for diverse student populations. The chapter discusses how AI tools assist in curriculum development, real-world problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration while emphasizing the importance of ethical considerations in AI integration. Grounded in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), this work underscores AI's potential to transform experiential education, advancing both student success and meaningful community impact.
