State of the Field of Performance Improvement within Higher Education: A Perspective

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

What does a successful field look like? Does its success reflect in professional organizations in the form of growing memberships? Or, does it express itself as formalized functional groups within an organizational setting? Or, is it a department dedicated to the research and teaching of performance improvement within higher education? Within a university setting, is there adequate funding for projects related to human performance technology from various agencies? Which, in turn, allows faculty to perhaps attract and retain more graduate students to contribute to the field?
