Abstract

Student Astronautical Group (SAG) of Warsaw University of Technology is an association of young people interested in astronautics and astronomy. It was established in 1996, with the help of Professor Wolanski, a great enthusiast of astronautics. The work of SAG concentrates on gaining both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in many disciplines directly and indirectly connected to space science and technology. Among the past and present activities of SAG, the ones mentioned are: ESA Student Parabolic Flight Campaigns, Young Engineers' Satellite 2 - SpaceMail and Student Space Exploration and Technology Initiative. In the end of the paper, general methods and issues concerning managing and control of an organisation such SAG are described, including advertising, motivation of members, public relations, knowledge management, etc.
