Abstract

Melting pressure vs. time traces were obtained in a Pomeranchuk cell in magnetic fields of 2. 0 and 2. 5 T at varying compression rates. Zero sound attenuation measurements, which was conducted in the cell simultaneously, were used to detect the A//1 and A//2 transitions of the superfluid **3He. The melting curve anomalies previously observed by Shurberth, Bakalyar and Adam, were studied. The results support the interpretation of Yu and Anderson, in which these anomalies are related to the spin transport properties of the liquid **3He.
