Abstract

Lay of the Land: How Much Data Does the Individual Experience Generate?
Whether it is you or a member of your family that is associated with a university either as a faculty, staff, or student, you were required to provide your personal information and banking details. When you open an account at a bank, you are once again required to divulge confidential information. When you go to the doctor's office, you once again do the same thing. Even your car dealer has some key personal details. So does your neighborhood pharmacist. And, so does your employer along with your registered massage therapist, local gym, and yoga studio. You cannot even get a library card without an ID that proves where you live; all of the information that is presented is then inputted into a database of some sort.
