Abstract
Very often the criticisms directed at scholars of performance improvement is their role in the insufficiency of research. Some have also suggested that academics are at least a decade behind, if not more.
For practitioners in the field, some have observed that what is put out is often a repackaging or rebranding of content. Much has been published about the close relationship between research and practice. Yet despite the interconnectivity between the two, we have not engaged in conversations to debate and propose what are some of the probable causes that may have led to a lagging performance in research and practice. Could it be an absence of originality that partially influences our research and practice?
