Abstract

Dunbar and Baker (2014) identify the personal experiences of teaching as “emotional labor” based in Hargreaves (1998) identification of the “emotional practice” of teaching. Likewise, this perspective expands to the role of teacher educators. We engaged in a collaborative self-study (Olan & Edge, 2019; Bullough & Pinnegar, 2007; Loughran, 2007) to investigate the emotional work of becoming a teacher educator and highlighted the importance of community support in teacher educator development.
