Abstract
Evidence-based practice and research has been a dominant discussion within our literature. Clark (2006) explains that there is “considerable economic incentive for commercial organizations to embrace evidence-based practice” (p. 875). Clark further suggests that we bear the responsibility of moving our practice toward professional status by “factoring evidence into our decisions” (p. 896). As important a pursuit to make our research and practice more robust through evidence is, I believe we have reached a juncture within the field of performance improvement where we must simultaneously advocate the need for critical research.
