Abstract
The hereby paper deals with a special type of sensors, that is the piezoelectric crystal immunosensors. These sensors function according to the principle of the variation of the quartz crystal's resonance frequency along with the variation of the mass deposited on its surface. This variation is being provided in this case by the specific antibody-antigen binding, when one of the components has already been deposited on the crystal's surface. The paper contains the description of the steps followed in theory and experimentally for achieving a piezoelectric crystal immunosensor in view of dosing the progesterone, but also the preliminary results after the dosage of the progesterone in the biological samples.
