Abstract
Adaptation to climate change at the regional level of governance in the United States presents opportunities and constraints. To date, however, there has been limited interest in the issue from the regional governmental entities (regional councils and MPOs). The objective of this paper is to explore this situation, offer insight into the reasons why these agencies are not engaged in this issue and what the prospects are in the future for overcoming the barriers and constraints.
