Abstract
In this article, I start with the assumption that there is merit to the field of performance improvement, also known as human performance technology (HPT). The field is yet to reflect markers that indicate it is a successful field. The ethos of the field, such that it integrates knowledge from various domains and is solution agnostic, should have garnered more acceptance, traction, and formalization than it has today.
