Abstract
In the recent studies, there was a discovery of new type of water in nanoscale called chain-like water where water molecules align in a straight line as a chain connected through hydrogen bonding. Furthermore, it has been identified the water goes through transition between one state to another, Chain-like water state to liquid water state. However, there was also a detection of unexpected friction force throughout the experiment. We were able to identify the origin of the friction force of water to be from the stochastic resonance from the transition between the two states, chain-like water state and liquid water state.
