Abstract

In order to address the temporal and conceptual dichotomy in migration studies discussed in the introduction, the authors of this chapter (sociocultural anthropologists and archaeologists/bioarchaeologists) engaged in direct dialogue to develop a shared set of definitions and concepts. Our goal was to develop a comprehensive intellectual framework for investigating both the causes and consequences of migration throughout human history.
