Abstract

The establishment of National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Jr. chapeters at high schools is discussed to aid the entire engineering communities in various ways. Through the implementation of NSBE Jr. chapters the high school gains an additional academic and extracurricular outlet for its students. The high school is also able to form a relationship with the university associated with the NSBE chapter. The most important aspect of the involvement with the NSBE Jr. chapters for the graduate students and the members of Georgia Tech Society of Black Engineers (GTSBE) is the ability to share knowledge and experience with the high school students in an effort to aid them in making decisions and choices in their lives.
